What started as humble effort to explore the export market for Natural Casings since 1985 was not an instantaneous urge; it was backed by an experience of production for the last two generations.
As the consumption of sheep casings in domestic market of Pakistan is negligible, the commodity is exclusively & competitively meant for exports in the international market. Hence all the parameter of production and quality are determined by the international buyers.
United Casing Corporation (Pvt.) Ltd (UCC) formerly United Trading Company (UTC) being a highly quality conscious company, has always strived to keep itself aware of the pr evailing international standards as well as the new development waiting in the quality & food safety pipeline. So, the growth in our production capabilities and processing of raw material has always been quite smooth, natural as well as fully synchronous towards modern developments and new initiatives. No doubt it has lead to stricter controls at UCC to meet the latest international standard. The only habit that we have acquired during these decades of struggle is the habit of adaptability according to the food safety rules and the requirements of the prevailing & emerging market trends. We understand that it is much more difficult to remain firm on higher echelons of success after getting there once. These attempts are least but not the last, as instead of focusing on sale of volumes of merchandise, we firmly believe in establishing lifelong relations with our clients & patrons for which we are always prepared to go an extra mile.

Pakistan is blessed with a large population of livestock that is well adapted to the natural and generally organic local environment. Livestock makes up almost 55.1% of the agriculture value added and contributes up to 11.6% of the GDP, the future high growth in agriculture is expected to be led by the livestock sector. Livestock products are also exported to various international markets. These products besides live animals include edible offal, meat (red meat, fresh, chilled & frozen), meat preparations, bovine, poultry, casings, hides & skins etc. Out of these export the second largest export commodity is Animal Casings which are mainly exporting to the E.U markets.
Our persistent efforts for betterment in quality have always been reinforced by the continuous guidance of our patrons and our technical advisors. It is worthwhile to mention that in recent years Pakistan has also emerged as a prominent meat exporting country. The fact has contributed a lot towards improvements in the conditions of our abattoirs. Entire slaughtering is done in Halal way, which is obligatory for the Muslims country but that also serves the needs of our valuable importers who have a vast arena of their customers ranging from Muslims as well as the valuable patrons who observe Kosher. A vast majority of these modern export abattoirs are located in the vicinity of our modern new factory just on the Gateway of Punjab’s biggest Industrial Estate called ‘Sunder Industrial Estate’, about 25 kilometres from Lahore.
In this way we have the advantage of timely processing of raw intestines procured from most hygienic slaughtering environment, retaining most of their qualities of freshness, natural slipperiness and reasonable moisture content till the final stages of shipment. As most of the processing is done in manual way, it helps a lot in retaining most of the natural properties of the merchandise.
The care exercised at the initial stage of handling the intestines plays a significant role in the eventual processes. It proves a great help for washing, sorting, calibration, packing and overall operational hygiene which results in the prompt & proper care of the Green Runners at the production plant. Our decade’s long experience tells us that better traits of properly stored raw material culminate into the better condition of the finished product.
We never take the quality of basic materials like water and salts etc. as trivial matters. These materials have the ability to make or mar the grading and natural characteristics of our products. Furthermore, UCC has some of the prime R&D and quality control institutions of both the public and private sector of the country, on panel of its consultants. They help us a lot on having a constant check on the quality of our water and other basic ingredients used in production line. Their continuous guidance and valuable professional comments help us take concrete steps for improvement of these in-puts.
The job refresher training and skill enhancement programs are some other areas of prime importance for competitiveness of our workforce and qualitative productivity of our business. We believe that the workers who are well versed with latest trends and standards of their trade not only have better job market value but they also prove to be a valuable asset for their organisation as well.
Once the Green Runners are at our production plants, they are in safer hands. Without loss of any time we put our most efficient efforts to bring out a wholesome skin for your sausages from calibre 14/16mm to 26/28mm in grade of 1A, AB & BC. It is of utmost importance for us to ensure that Natural Casings of the livestock raised in Natural Environment be preserved with their Natural Characteristics.
We are always on the move and leave no stone unturned to use all possible ways and innovative means to retain better quality of our products. To be the pioneers in Tubing Process for casings in Pakistan is just another example of it. Likewise we are one of the prime exporters from Pakistan who were allowed exports to Romania. We try to remain fully abreast of the new developments and obligations under EFSA & WTO regime related to our commodity and trade.
